Amazing Blackpool Heritage

The 'Cliffs' promenade walks

Just a 2 minute walk from the Cherry Blossom Inn, you can take a lovely walk in the 'Cliffs' Area, featuring Jubilee Gardens & Gynn Gardens. All of the pictures opposite (which you can move around like post-cards) were taken in this area.

You will pass Jubilee Gardens on the promenade, heading north past Gynn Square; this is a lovely spot to sit for a while and is partly sheltered from the seafront breeze as the gardens are slightly sunken from the level of the footpath.

Great places to relax and just a short walk away.

Culture & Heritage

Visitors first flocked to Blackpool in Victorian times (around the time the Cherry Blossom Inn was built) and it’s been known as the archetypal English seaside resort ever since. Much has changed but you’ll still find clanking trams, celebrated theatres, thrilling roller-coasters and a nostalgic shot of seaside fun. Blackpool tower, built in 1894, still commands fantastic views over the resort.

Attractions

Whether you want a day visiting some of the numerous attractions or a day at the beach, Blackpool is jam-packed with things to see and do. Don’t miss Blackpool Zoo, Blackpool Tower (exactly 1 mile away from the Cherry Blossom Inn) with its vertigo-inducing glass floor or one of the amazing roller-coasters at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Not to mention the promenade and piers; North Pier is a mere 0.8 Miles away with Tram stops just a 2 minute walk across the road from us.

Blackpool Illuminations

Were first switched on 18th September 1879. They are 6 miles (10 km) long and use over one million bulbs! The display stretches along the Promenade from Starr Gate at the south end of the town to Bispham in the north. The view of the illuminations from the Cherry Blossom Inn is nothing short of spectacular, with some illuminations right outside on the promenade. Please see the picture below taken from one of our rooms.
